I just finished The New Dark by James Kingzett, and seriously, it got me thinking. He drops us into this spooky future where our energy systems are all messed up and society is barely hanging in there. It’s a wild ride, but what really hit me was how much it felt like the energy issues we deal with today. Kingzett's humor and satire had me laughing while also making me realize just how important it is for us to change our ways. As I followed the characters through their crazy adventures, I totally saw bits of my own life, like how outdated our energy sources are. The push for renewable energy, especially geothermal, feels super relevant and hopeful. This book isn’t just a fun read; it’s a real wake-up call for anyone who gives a hoot about our planet. If you want something that’s entertaining and makes you think.

Un my personal experience I must confess that I really like network games, and just reading the title of this book makes you think about all that awaits us and I wondered if we humans are prepared and are prepared to survive this “New Darkness” that is coming.
I must also highlight Kingzett's wit and good sense of humor, and the way he advocates for a renewable change, his governmental criticisms and with this be aware of transforming new energy systems. It is a book that makes you reflect a lot about the dark world of the networks and that we should all think about the future consequences.

"THE NEW DARK: SURVIVING THE GRID" is a gripping and eye-opening read that takes you through the chilling realities of a world without power. The book provides practical survival tips while also delving into the psychological and social aspects of living off the grid. I found the scenarios both thrilling and thought-provoking, making me reconsider how prepared I am for such an event. It's a must-read for anyone interested in survival strategies and the implications of a sudden technological blackout.

In James Kingzett's book The New Dark, besides offering us a dystopian story, he also gives us a wake-up call. The collapse of the energy grids leads humanity to despair and confusion. Despite these problems, what stands out most in the story is Kingzett's role, who mocks the government's mistakes and its way of managing energy, ignoring the fact that renewable energy also exists. The style and plot of the story hooks you very quickly, especially because of its way of wanting to change our perspective on renewable energy. If you are concerned about the future or simply love a thought-provoking read, The New Dark is just what you are looking for.

Timely, quirky and delightful. The author is a true wordsmith and literary genius. I loved it. Hopefully more of his work is yet to be discovered.
